i got a computer with vista, but theres one little program that i NEED to use, and it does not currently support vista

so.. i NEED to install XP, i want it on another partition and keep vista as my main OS, use XP only when i need that, virtual machines wont work as this software needs to install drivers and virtual machines crashes with them.

As far as i know, installing an older OS on a HD that has a newer one will screw up the new one, is this still true for vista?

what can i do to get xp and dont screw up vista?

thanks

you could install XP on another partition and then use your vista DVD to repair vista:)

Or you could get the free Microsoft VirtualPC 2007 and install it then install WinXP inside that.

The downside will be which of the 4 versions of Vista you have.

Ignore the Enterprise version, may not be available to you.

Xp is a control freak. What I mean by this is that if you're wanting to put xp and vista on the same hard drive, you will have to install XP first.

I had vista for 3 months and hated it so I removed it and went back to xp.
