Is there a policy on having other sites hosting the SD exe? http://spywaredoctor.antispyware.ws/downloads/sdsetup.exe

This site also keeps editing the wikipedia article on SD and spams their link to this exe.

Only bad things could come from that...

The domain .ws is sold by the Samoa govenment to anyone, mainly those who wants to stay 'unrecognized'. In my opinion it should be 'blocked' in general by any site-advisor as they normally are spam and malware sites. Just one of the ways for a poor country to get some income. Some time ago Taiwan was famous for this, no it has shifted a bit.

Hi I am the owner of www.antispyware.ws site,

Just for your records and information

1) We are in the USA, Florida and the domains are hosted at "Equinix datacenter" located in Northern Virginia. - Ashburn Virginia. (Not in Samoa or any "poor country" as you refer)

2) We are Internet security advisors, consultants and reviewers, and own and manage various Internet security related sites. We also offer files download for our visitors benefits. All files offered for download are legal and official trial versions of the software vendor that we are affiliated or representing.

3) WiKipedia is a public comunity site service, anyone can add or edit content, so I have added the link to the Spyware Doctor "public free trail" for the comunity benefit. Its no spam, malware or trojan, just the Official trial I am authorized to offer by PC Tools. Anyone can download is from RegNow.

4) For your information the Top Level Domain - TLD .WS initially was Western Samoa. But from some time ago, it means WebSite. I get it from GoDaddy

I am not hiding from anyone, my name is Tony Sanz,

Antispyware-Reviews,
Version of Spyware Doctor you are providing is not digitally signed and publisher come up as unknown instead of PC Tools. To me its look like a scam. I will never download from your site.

Note that the site 'Godaddy' when accessed with IE7 is partly blocked with a security warning, tells the most! (Security certificate errors).

FYI, I stored a GoDaddy website address in my "Favorites" list sometime back. When I performed the next AdAware scan, that GoDaddy address was flagged with a security warning and recommendation that I delete it...which I did with no subsequent problems. I was under the impression that the host "GoDaddy" was considered to be a potential problem. GoDaddy is now GONE DADDY, out of my system.

What could you possibly gain out of hosting the download yourself? Why not just link the official one? Your site is a pathetic attempt as a legit review site. Every link is a referral one and this is just a spam operation by you. Nothing more.

You won't suceed in getting your link to stay in wikipedia, myself and others are will keep reverting your spam links.

My advice to you: get a real job. Or are you still too young to get hired? Perhaps too stupid? I could believe both.

By the way, .ws is for Samoa (http://www.iana.org/root-whois/ws.htm). People just say it stands for website to get you to buy it. ;)

What puzzels me in this is the 'quietness' from PC Tools. I would have expected them to jump up and scream: We are not associated with this site - they are 'blocked' in site guard!!!!!

But remarkably quiet. Have the greed and panic gone that far so they have to turn to this kind of 'marketing' sites to get new cutomers?

Please note that the websites www.safestware.com and www.antispyware.ws are legitimate websites. However, with http://spywaredoctor.antispyware.ws, we have taken the necessary steps to have this link removed.

cooldude7273, could you please PM the link to "this site which keeps editing the wikipedia article on SD and spams their link to this exe" and we'll investigate this further.

'Legitimate' or not, in my opinion that kind of places should change to .BS!

I certainly hop that PC Tools stays clear of that kind of 'dealers'. The 'marriage' to google is bad enough, known to be the least 'secure' of everyone and perhaps the biggest 'logger' of personal info.

Hey Jimbo,

Don't say that! One of the main reasons I visit this site is to see what Reodor's up to. Love his sense of humour, plus he keeps PCT on their toes.
