View Full Version : Why doesn't my Group Policy Objects (GPO) propagate to my domain users

I set up a Windows 2000 Active Directory at a company. I added users to the directory. Set up the computers to join the domain. I set up the users accounts as Roaming Profiles. I created Organizational Units (OU) and moved the users to them. Under the OU I created a new policy and set some desktop settings and scripts to mount. When the user signs logs in (under the domain) it authenticates and the profile loads (it takes a long time even after the first successful login) and none of the GPO settings are applied. I set the GPO to enabled and I did this once before and I don't remember having these problems. I'm playing around but I just can't seem to figure out what's wrong. This should be easy. Anything I might be missing?

When I've had this problem (same setup) and it is truly a policy or domain member/controller issue and not something hardware or OS related then it has always been fixed by:

1) Deleting cached profiles (c:\Documents and Settings\usernames)

2) Doing a gpupdate /force locally.

Sometimes one or the other works, sometimes it takes both.
