The above captioned program is not cleaning the recent history files for Msft Paint or the WordPad. PG version 4.1.0.37. It did clean the recycle bin though - - - go figger. That is a first. Additionally, after further testing the prog will not clean the local temp file as established under the custom items. The box is checked and the path is C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Local\Temp mask=*.*,subdirectories. It appears to make no diff if the folder is hidden or not. It will not delete the items in that folder. Please advise Hmmmmmmmm I have three (3) licenses with you peeps and for a period of time now only one (1) appears to work effectively - SD5. This boy is becoming a little frustrated now. OS-Windows Vista Ultimate. The log info is as follows:
Privacy Guardian 4.1.0.37
0 item(s) cleaned
7/11/2007 5:34:45 PM
[Clean Custom Items]

Hi tig2020,
To resolve this, instead of having mask=*.*, please keep this blank, eg, mask= .
With Msft Paint or the WordPad, what version of Windows are you currently running?

Windows Vista Ultimate with all windows patches and updates applied. Addionally, I made the change to the custom wash and the temp file remains unchanged even though PG indicates it has been cleaned,

We have run through a few tests with PG regarding clearing the temp folder in Vista.
It does appear that most files are cleared when we ran the test, only 5 files remained which could mean they were being used at the time or recently created as the files remained were all modified/created today.
To test this, perform another clean with Privacy Guardian, check 'Clean Windows Settings’ and check ‘Clean Custom Items’, this should remove most of the temp files in the directory.
Let me know how you go.

I have taken the action you requested and will continue to monitor and post my results. However, if I use all the clean functions in PG, it takes out some running services and those services can't be restarted unless I reboot- i.e. my bluetooth. Refreshing the explorer will not provide and avenue to restart that service. Please advise.

I am attaching 3 jpegs for your review. The shots are of the temp before a clean with the custom setting, after a clean with the custom setting and the third is a right click delete using PG in the context menu.

Thanks for the screenshots. The clean appears to be ok, but some items may be currently being used or locked and this is why, PG will not remove these files. It removes whatever it can.
