different windows vista editions have one little thing missing

And i'd like to know,because some editions have the dvd decoder missing,is there a free alternative available?What are you using?

The best Vista editions, in my opinion, are Home Premium and Ultimate.
Home Basic gives you almost nothing when compared to other editions.

there are many (better quality too)

my fraverate is DivX but you can find a whole load with google (the term to use is codex)

it's the same for XP, no edition have decoders
