I tried Cyberhawk for a few days without any problems then I started getting a notice that Windows Explorer needs to close. Shortly afterwards Windows Explorer would restart. Everytime I booted up this would happen, so I uninstalled Cyberhawk. After the uninstall I had no more problem with WE needing to close.
I don't need Cyberhawk as my real-time security programs keep my system 100% clean.
avast! Home Edition, Spyware Terminator & PC Tools Firewall Plus are my real-time protection. Cyberhawk doesn't have any problem with them.
I hope the info I gave you will help improve Cyberhawk. Maybe some day I will need Cyberhawk.

I am assuming you use XP. If not please correct me. I will try and get this repeated. Although in our earlier version we saw this behavior, we have not been seeing it in the last build.
Thanks for the information.

Yes, I'm using XP Home Edition SP2.

Hi,
I had the exact same problem with Windows Explorer needing to close when trying to access the "My Documents" Folder.
Furthermore Internet Explorer froze up on me a couple of times.
Problem free after un-installing Cyberhawk.
:( Very disappointed and not at all impressed with conflict causing Cyberhawk.
Had my share of problems too with SD 5 to the point that I had to revert back to using SD 4.
For a change, I was looking forward to smooth sailing with Cyberhawk!
Cheers,

Unfortunately I have not been able to reproduce this issue. Kulaworld, would you be able to tell me what you have working with the Norton suite, Spywareblaster etc...
It would help to try and recreate the crash ... if possible.
Thanks

Hi,
In addition to the ones I have listed in my signature,
there is OpenOffice.org 2.0, Nero Start Smart, Ciphire, Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.0, Norton SystemWorks incl. CleanUp, GoBack and Utilities, Faststone Capture, CCleaner
Problem always occurred immediately after I opened the "My Documents" Folder. Could not at all access any files within. Message popped up saying that Windows Explorer had to close...
Back to the desktop and some of the icons in sys tray disappeared!?
Had to reboot.
Cheers,
kulaworld

That is quite an array.
So what is running? What services are running at the time when you want to access your documents folder?
Thanks

ciphire-msg.exe
explorer.exe
services.exe
System Idle Process
System
DPCs
Interrupts
svchost.exe
SuperAntispyware.exe

I am not understanding you. Sorry.
You don't have Norton system works, Internet security suite, Spywareblaster, SuperantiSpyware, Spyware Doctor 4.0, etc... running at the same time? Or do you.
If you can/want ... could you post an image of the process explorer?
I don't want to bother you.
Cheers

Not a bother what so ever.
Thing is, I'm not a professional and I have to find my way through here first.
So be patient and we will get there.
Because of the sheer volume of information I have sent two emails to support marked Attention djames.
Please find attached an image of Process Explorer and also Sys Info Services.
Hope this helps

I've been having the same problem - that is, Windows Explorer has to close, but usually it closes and re-opens immediately. I hadn't connected it with Cyberhawk until I read this post. I also have XP Professional SP2 so waiting to hear what happens...

swannie, could you also give me the programs that are running on your system, when this occurs, also, what type of system you have, and at is this also on start up? You can PM me if you like.
I am trying to re-create this, and so far I have had not success at this.
Thanks

Hi djames,
To tell the truth, I don't remember what programs were running when this problem occurred but next time it happens, I'll get back to you. It doesn't happen as often as it used to.
I have XP SP2, 768 RAM, SD 5/AV, AVG/AS on demand, CH, IE7, Firefox 2. What other info do you need?
Thanks

Hi, I've been doing some research on this problem and I don't think it has anything to do with Cyberhawk.
It's mentioned on a lot of forums as Event ID 1000 0x000139F8 which is what shows up in my event viewer but I can't figure out how to fix it.
Any ideas anyone???

Having turned off Cyberhawk completely since yesterday, guess what? No 'Windows Needs to close...' So, I think it is connected after all.
Any news on the problem?

I have tried countless times to re-create this. Just have not succeeded. I am not saying that it is not because of Cyberhawk, just that I have no repeatable case in order for us to debug this.

OK, it may not be Cyberhawk at all, I agree and I think I'll start it up again and see what happens. Will let you know. Thanks.

I have the same problem. If I entered a folder and then close it a little faster, explorer.exe would have to close and re-open.
The processes running on my system (XP professional, AMD 3000+, 1GB RAM):
Picture (http://picasaweb.google.com/b89205104/System/photo#5096308836272012066)
I have Avira AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium、Comodo Firewall Pro 2.4、AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5. I use services.msc to disable the AVG Anti-Spyware today, so you won't see the guard.exe in the list. cfosnt.exe is a PPPoE software; ChewingServer.exe and Going8.exe are Chinese input program; PDSched.exe is from Perfect Disk 6.
I also have another problem: When I type or move icon using keyboard, the CPU usuage (CHservice.exe) keeps increase until reaching 100% and slow down all the operations.
I hope that the solution won't be "change a better computer". Since so many people installed different programs but had similar problems....

We are trying to get a repeatable case for this. I have not yet repeated it once, so we are still working on it.

Hello, I have the same problem. If I entered a folder (I think "My Documents" mostly) and then close it, explorer.exe crashes ... and re-open.
I'm using actual HBEDV Antivir and Outpost 3.0 (Agnitum) Firewall, both very good and very stable.
Remark: After the crash I get always the following message from Oupost like this "CHSERVICE.exe tries to write in the memory of explorer.exe" . (Component Control from Outpost is activated, I don't want to deactivate Outposts Component Control, because it works fine!)
Maybe this helps you.

Well, I still have this problem from time to time on opening My Documents and Skype. Any success in replicating this yet?

No luck yet.
Concerning Outpost. This firewall will stop Cyberhawk from functioning fully, therefore I am not surprised with issues with Cyberhawk when they are on the same system together.

I wander...do you have any defragment software (like Perfectdisk or Diskeeper)?
Concluding form my own experiences, it seems that this problem was triggered by installing a new software or moving, deleting files, but I am not sure about that...

No, and Surely no Diskeeper :-)
@djames
I don't think it's special outpost, because some here in the threat have the same/similiar problem but no outpost. And outpost works very fine with all ! my other software. I think, it has something do to with conflicts in generall between cyberhawk and other security software like firewalls (IDS), scanners etc, maybe on kernel level or dll (I m not an expert :-)
I had to delete cyberhawk. It's a nice tool, but as long as this crashes are not solved, it has no use for me. I m looking forward to a new version. Hope you can improve it. For normal users the importants factor is, that a tool is absoltely stable.

Hi Rotan Imret
Novatix/PC Tools will be releasing a new BETA version of Cyberhawk sometime in the near future. Hopefully this version will solve your problems.

Good news because I have a similar problem and rather than disabling Cyberhawk, which is a comforting presence, I've just been putting up with the problem. Hope the new version fixes it.
