Could anyone help me with a niggly I.E. 7 issue that is annoying me. My pc works fine with IE7 no problems at all, apart from e.g.
When you click on a link on a webpage and it opens a new window... all is well until I close the formentioned window using the red x. Then all my windows open in IE7 freeze and I have to end the IE7 program in the task manager to be able to use IE7 again. The issue with that is that all the windows I have open disappear as a result of ending IE7 and then I have to try and track down the addresses to websites again :(
Any ideas?
Thanks, Michael :)
I know of three causes for the vast majority of such problems:
1. Incompatible add-ons: What if you right click the IE icon on the desktop
and choose Start Without Add-ons?
Or go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | Internet
Explorer (No Add-ons).
2. Tools | Internet Options | Advanced
Scroll to the bottom and click Reset Internet Explorer Settings.
3. Malware already installed on the computer: Help with malware

Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software.
So How Did I Get Infected Anyway?
For quite a few people it's by installing Messenger Plus, whose ads for
malware don't identify the malware as such and try to convince you that you
owe it to the author. See also:

Don't ever do a "default" install of anything. Always choose Custom and see
what else is being carried along. Don't install any extras you're not sure
of.

I'm having crashing problems as well. It makes me so pissy to have my IE close while I'm surfing the internet. I have no idea about IE7 but I do keep a log of the errors I get. Would it help if I posted them.

hi, it might help if you switched to another browser
if firefox ever crashes it let's you restore the session from where it crashed:)

Umm...Ok that is one solution but I would like to continue using IE unless Firefox has the tab system. Honestly that is all that keeps me to IE and I am getting sick of it crashing.

the tabed browsing system is nothing exclusive to ie, IE was the last major browser to get tabs
