or does Cyberhawk slow down my pc, particularly when I am browsing on the web with Firefox or IE7? Anybody else notice this or a similar issue? Thanks.

Hi Alank,
I have recently installed Cyberhawk and haven't really noticed any slow downs when browsing with IE. Did this occur right after installing Cyberhawk? Did you make any other changes on the PC?

Are you using Vista? If so here is a fix for slow browsing performance:
click Start > type cmd > hold CTrl + Shift + Enter this will open a console window with Admin privileges.
Type in the cmd window > netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled
Enter
We noticed that this occurred without Cyberhawk, and this was our way around this problem. Although I am still interested if you continue to have this behavior.

I noticed a performance hit right after installing it several days ago. Both web browsing and booting up the pc appeared to be slowed. The more I have used my pc since then, it seems to be less and less of an issue. I still perceive a minor slowdown when web browsing, but it is negligible. (Or maybe it is my imagination...but I don't think so) No other changes were made recently before installing Cyberhawk or since.
Btw- I am running XP SP2 and Norton Int Security 2007 is my primary antivirus program. I also run Spyware Doctor 4.1 and Spyware Blaster 3.5.

I would imagine that the impact of running all of these together might produce a slight slowdown.
It will also depend on what you have actively running with each app. I will give the combination a run here and see what I can find.
Thanks

Now that I have had Cyberhawk on my desktop pc for about 5 days plus, I really don't seem to notice any noteworthy performance degradation any longer. I installed cyberhawk on my laptop two days ago and experienced the same issues. Performance was slowed noticeably at first, but as the laptop was used (and rebooted) several more times the performance hit seems to have diminished.
Is it possible that Cyberhawk takes some time to integrate and eventually becomes virtually seamless?
Any thoughts or comments from users, or those at PC Tools or Novatix???
One last thought...does anyone know if Cyberhawk is truly effective...after all, PC Tools credibility has been quite tarnished since Spyware Doctor 5 was released.
Best wishes to all!

Hi
Cyberhawk has noticed two "suspicious" activitied on my computer. Both of which are methods for malware to infect (but in my case were legitimate as i was installing something) so it does work!
