Here is the issue that I currently have.
I assist in the admin work on a large NetWare/AD network (we are currently in the process of cutting over to AD from netware)
Most of the PC's are not on the domain and cannot get updates. Some however do get the updates, is there a way to specify local account information to get the updates on client PC's?

Thanks for contacting PC Tools.
The SDE Client PC's obtain their Smart Updates locally from the SDE Server Console.
SDE version 3.0.1 no longer provides the option for remote users to obtain their Smart Updates from our web site. Users can only connect (via VPN) to your company’s network, where the SDE Server Console is installed to obtain the Smart Updates.
If the users rarely or never connect to your company’s network, you may wish for them to have Spyware Doctor 'stand alone version' instead?
For helpful online SDE information you can view the complete SDE Admin Guide at: http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor-enterprise/help/3.0.1/adminguide/

We currently are licensed for Spyware Doctor Enterprise and all client PC's need to be able to get updates and have the client remotely installed on them. As we have no "live" Windows domain I am trying to figure out how to get updates and installation onto PC's that are not part of the domain.
When we try to do installations remotely we get the error message "Failed to create directory {\\PC_NAME.local.DOMAIN.com.au\admin$\EMClient\}. Reason - {Windows OS Error: Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.}"
(Please note that I changed the PC name and domain name for privacy reasons)
I know this is because they are not part of the domain so I am trying to figure out how to use local authentication to update/install the product on the client machines.

Thanks for replying.
SDE (like all other network-based Enterprise products) follow the authentication rules established by the Operating System. If the computers / users cannot be authenticated by the O/S, they will never be authenticated by SDE. They follow the same rules.
We can only suggest that until a bonafide domain is established, your best option perhaps is Spyware Doctor classic (stand alone version).
