How to Close the Media Player

I'm running W2K Professional. How can I automatically close the Windows Media Player V7 after playing a MID file? I edited the file type to "/Play /Close" when it invokes the media player, however it doesn't exit when it stops playing. It used to work when I had WIN95. Please let me know how I can automatically close the media player after it plays an audio file.
