Hi

This is not a dig at PCTools or any particular company, but why is it that so many companies seem to have so much problem making their products 64-bit compatible? What is the big deal with 64-bit that makes it so hard for them to sort out? Surely there is not a great deal of difference between 32 & 64 bit versions of the same OS?

As I say, not a dig at any company in particular but it is just something that puzzles me.

Many thanks for any input.

Hmmm, a summary of the article here (http://news.softpedia.com/news/Are-you-ready-for-the-next-Major-Desktop-Migration-500.shtml). People do not really need the 64 bit processing power, and thus, it is only used by major companies. This results in very little end users using 64 bit computers, and companies do not find that having 64 bit support for their programs are worth the effort. This is a super duper short summary. You should take a look at the article. Hope this helps you!

Quite an interesting article. I guess it will take a little time for more companies to move their software into the 64bit platform. I came across a thread in the SD forum and it appears that they are working on a 64bit version. Many other companies may be doing the same, but the 64bit is still yet to grow amongst the users, so hopefully this will happen in the near future.
