After installing WIN 98, IE 4 will not display hang up screen when exiting IE 4. I have to manually disconnect my modem by clicking on modem icon in task bar. Is there a fix for this?

First back up yout registry, if you don't know how to do this, for get it just click your connection off manualy. Otherwise, open Regedit and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\RemoteAccess\Profile\"THE NAME OF YOUR CONNECTION"\
CHANGE THE BINARY VALUE OF "EnableExitDisconnect" form "00 00 00 00" TO "01 00 00 00"

My connection in the Registry did not contain "EnableExitDisconnect". I added it, but to not avail. Any other ideas?

Control Panel -> Internet -> Connection -> ENABLE "Connect to the Internet as needed", choose your DUN, AND ENABLE "Disconnect if idle for x minutes"
