Hi!
Everytime I start up my computer I get a line that says 'MBR error 3'. I have no idea what this means or how to get rid of it.
Do any of you?
Thanks - Fredrik

MBR is the Master Boot Record - what code 3 means J could not find.
so either you have had a problem after reconfiguring partitions, or this may be a side effect from a virus.
Do you have anti-virus software installed ?
If your machine still starts up into a usable mode, be sure to start backing up your data. If you have to touch the MBR for correcting it, chances are 50-50 that you will have to reformat your HD.

Ok, thinks are getting clearer.
I did run Partition Magic a couple of days ago, but I didn't actually do anything. Still, when I started the program, it automatically wanted to do some changes to the MBR, which I let it do.
I have Norton Antivirus on my computer and when Partition Magic did the changes to the MBR, Norton alerted that it might be some virus activity, which it wasn't. I just ran a viruscheck on my computer and this time Norton also said that the MBR has changed. However, Norton said that if this is a result of e.g. Partition Magic, it's ok. Norton could fix this, but claimed that it's not necessary.
So what should I do? Let Norton fix the problem or let it be?
Thanks a million!

Don't have Norton antivirus "repair" it. Tell it to "inoculate" it instead. This advice should be in your Partition Magic help or manual.

Thanks Rene for your reply. I didn't see any 'Inoculate' option in Norton, but I made it accept the changes in the MBR, so now it doesn't complain anymore. But the problem is still there. 'MBR error 3' every time I start my computer. It doesn't seem to be anyhting wrong though. Everything works properly.
Should I ignore this message, or is there any way of fixing it?
Thanks again!
- Fredrik
