I use Thunderbird for my eMail. Latest Version.

Sometimes, when my email comes in everything disappears from my inbox and appears in a new folder called nstmp.

Is this Spydoctor with antivirus doing that because it's found an infection or do I need to be looking elsewhere?

I did add inbox.msf to the Global Action List.

i dont think sd with av can do this. suggest to you use "Malware Detective" tool and send the log to pctools.you will find malware detective under "tools" panel

According to MozillaZine a ntsmp folder is a temporary file created when Mozilla Thunderbird is compacting a folder. Have a look at this link:
