View Full Version : SDTrayApp.exe & SiSoft Sandra XI conflict

The following phenomenon is exhibited on 2 Pcs (1 XP Home & 1 XP Pro) each with SD Starter Edition and SANDRA XI SP1 installed.
Problem occurs if you attempt to analyse SDTrayApp.exe with SANDRA tool "Processes - Running processes (EXEs)". The SANDRA yellow-disc 'working' indicator just keeps going, CPU usage shoots up to and stays on indicated 100% (SDTrayApp.exe about 78%, CSRSS.EXE about 20%) which renders the PC unusable. Even if/when you can close SANDRA, 100% CPU usage remains until the machine is re-started.

Hi there,
I went to www.download.com and attempted to download the particular version you have as the software sounds like a very useful tool. However, I could only find Sandra XI SP2 and its a really SLOW download. When, if ever it downloads I will let you know if this version has any conflicts.

First, thanks Anthony for passing it on. Conflicts like this will happen with independently developed software and while it would be great if it can be fixed, the everyday useability of SD5 does not seem to be affected.
After the first time it occured with SANDRA SP1, I tried SP2 to see if there was any difference but I couldn't get SP2 to work on either PC. Kept getting errors (see attachment) so I gave up and reverted to SP1. I've since found that this error also occurs on PCs without SD5 installed.

Hey PC-pete,
I recreated the problem on SP2, and I did narrow it down to SD, but I cant tell if its the tray icon because it just sits at 100% and just says analysing, but im running a virtual machine so only SD is installed so its a problem.
