View Full Version : Never Run

Does anyone have this problem? Or should it be this way?
I go to Settings > Scheduled Tasks. There's a list of tasks which I've programmed e.g. Intelliscan daily, Full scan weekly, Updates daily. The column 'Next scan' always has a date but the column 'Last scan' has the date only for a time, I think, a day. So, every morning in the 'Last scan' column it says Never Run. And in the Full scan column it always says Never run except on the day it runs. Surely, the last date the scan or update ran should be there permanently?
Any ideas???
Apart from that the system works perfectly.
I have already brought this one up somewhere or the other (don't remember which thread). Someone (I believe it was AChen) said he had already notified the developers, so in theory, they are working on a fix.
So, nope, you're not alone. Don't know if it's widespread or if it just happens to a few people, but other than the two of us, I haven't seen anyone else mention it.
Now that I am thinking about this, wasn't there a bug awhile ago that caused the last scan date and/or the last update date on the main summary page to always report "Today" as the last date the action was run? Wasn't that bug fixed? Maybe this behavior we are seeing on the schedule list was unintentionally broken when that was fixed, 'cause they really seem like inverse problems of one another.

I did have a problem for months with 'Attention Required: No Scan Run' in big red letters on my splash screen, but that's fixed at least. I didn't have the 'Today' problem. This is a bit strange.
Anyway, if anyone else has this problem, let us know so we know we're not the only two people in the world affected...

swannie, i have scheduled scans the same way you described in your initial post and encounter the results you described. I noticed this 2 or 3 weeks ago but had seen no other posts on it until I saw yours. My biggest issue is still automatic "smart update"

Hi Guys,
This is the thread you are referring to: http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47316. This issue has already been logged and the developers are still working on this. I cannot provide a timeframe at this point, but when I do receive more info, I'll let you know.

Hey
With the last v259 (in MY case) it seems resolved
All my schedulled tasks show the right date even after many days of the schedulled date

Hi Vecchio,
Well, I haven't tried it on the latest version because I've been doing manual scans to avoid the system freezes that occurred on 205 if you happened to be doing something else at the time your scan was scheduled. Now that problem seems to be fixed I'll try scheduling scans and report back. Thanks!

Probably what have been fixed when they changed 'priority'. Other prg's gets priority of recources when scanning (scans gets slowed down). This only if You have enough resources available for both running SD, scan AND other prg's at the same time.
Goooood luck.;)

Well, I don't think I have resources for running more than SD and scanning with it at the same time. I scheduled a Full Scan for today to see if it would appear correctly in Scheduled Tasks and it took 2 hours 21 minutes. Maybe it goes slower. I didn't try doing anything else at the same time but at least nothing froze up. I had a look at TM and it was running 100%CPU at times but not always.

PS I'll wait a few days before I say for sure that the Scan doesn't show "Never Run" but so far so good:)

OK this is my third day observing and the dates in scheduled tasks are now correct. Looks like another problem fixed. Thanks:)
