Hello,
Is it normal that avdb\temp\ directory is taking some much disk space, above 2Gb ?
My pc was freezing so I closed SpywareDoctor 5 and all came back to normal.
Thanks for a fix,

Hi
It should not be that big. Mine is 15MB. Do you have anything in quarantine or temp?

The 2gb are in the temp.
The quarantaine is empty.
So it must be an infinite loop in the software doing this.

Hi
Would it be possible to post a screenshot of the files in the temp folder?
To post a screenshot please do the following:
Open the temp folder
Press Alt and PrtSc together
Open Paint and go to Edit -> Paste
Go to File -> Save As...
Save it as a .PNG file
Post it in your next reply
Thanks

Hello,
I already deleted them, I'm relaunching SD5 and will post a pic as soon as the problem occurs, it was not the first time, so i'm sure it will happen again.

Hello,
After a half hour of freezing time I decided to hardreboot my laptop. And this large directory came back.
Here a pic as requested: http://www.b-powers.be/avdb.png

Did you take the screenshot while a scan was in process? This is something we'll need to investigate further.
What should normally happen is that SD should create temp files during the scan and then remove these immediately? However, in your case it may be possible that SD is not removing these temp files.
It could be a bug within the software that you have picked up or could be a 3rd party intervention. Whichever the case, we'll have to look into this matter.

Not during a scan. After rebooting (hardware) as my laptop was freezing since a half hour.
I don't have any other anti-spyware or any other antivirus.
I'm on Vista Pro.

To assist us further with this, could you please provide the following:
1) Do you have the bit locker drive encryption turned on?
2) Do you encrypt any files\folders on the PC using the Windows built-in "Encrypting File System"?
3) Have you been running as an Administrator or limited user? Do you turn off the "User access control" if running as an Administrator?

1) What is it ? nop, I don't think so.
2) No
3) As admin with user control off.

Thanks for getting back. I have passed on the information you have provided to the developers. Will update once I receive more info.

Hello,
Still occuring on .186, might be related after coming back from the "standby" mode of my laptop.
Killing SD 5 process solves it.
Any news on this bug ?

Hi Francois,
Can you please elaborate on the problem? The standby mode issue has been resolved in build 186. What problems are you experiencing with this?
And is the second issue "The 2gb are in the temp."? The developers are still working on resolving this and will let you know once a fix is in place.
