As suggested by WarrenG, I decided to make a poll where we may all 'smash and bash' or 'kiss and hug' each other and SD V5 (PC Tools) freely!
1: Does SD v5 and PC Tools deserve a 'Gold Medal'?
2: Does SD v5 deserve the 'garbage can' bucket?
3: I do not know, can't get it installed.
4: I'll tell when I get it to boot up.
5: I'll be back when I get the last up date.
6: Best game in years, can't wait to reach next level and new challenges.

poll:
1. you use SD with zone alarm and you have problems
2. you use SD without zone alarm and you do not have problems
3. you expect pctools to fix the problems with zone alarm
4. you want pctools to develop a special version of SD that will uninstall zone alarm and replace it with the pctools firewall
:)

Cannot agree with you there tried various builds of SD5 without ZA and with.Made know difference still crashed my 3 PCs two with XP one with vista 32.So in the end gave up, now running not one but two, different antispyware programs. And with all there guards fully working, and updates, and both in real time protection. And with the added bonus very little CPU use even when scanning.

Ho ho ho. Laugh, I nearly did...
I use SD 5.0.0.184 and ZA 7.0.337.000 and have had absolutely NO conflicts between the two. If you are, may I suggest that it is yr particular computer which is at fault and not the aforementioned apps.

All I know is that when I was running ZA 6 w/ SD 4, I had no problems with system stability at all. When I upgraded to ZA 7 and SD 5 I now get system lockups every few days. If I remove SD and use SpySweeper, the lockups go away.
How else am I supposed to interpret that? No matter how you slice it, there is something "wrong" w/ SD 5. Perhaps it isn't a conflict between ZA and SD, but SD is definately coflicting with something and causing lockups. So yes, I believe SD to be at fault in some way or another.

Beware of implications that it mut be your computer when you have problems with software. I have the same problem with ZA7 and SD5.

just because spysweeper does not conflict with ZA 7 the way that SD 5 does, that does not mean that there is no problem with ZA 7.. it could be that "spysweeper" is just different from SD 5 and so it doesn't conflict with ZA 7..
to see if ZA 7 is the problem, you would have to uninstall ZA 7 and then reinstall SD 5 (to insure a good install of SD 5) and then see how it runs when ZA 7 is not installed..

Been there done that and got the tee-shirt same result. Then support said it was my Kaspersky AV was the problem. So disabled that but same result on 3 PCs although on the Vista one not so many lock ups.But got so fed up with SD and all the different builds. Gave up in the end at version think it was 179 or something.Installed two other programs and no more problems with all
current software ZA and Kaspersky AV running on the 3 machines.

Yeah, well, I am not about to uninstall ZoneAlarm. Anyway, how would that prove anything one way or the other? I have no doubt that SD 5 would work just fine (well, better than it is now) w/o ZA installed. What would that tell me? If the problem is within SD that doesn't allow it to play nice with ZA, of course it wouldn't show up if ZA isn't installed. I'm just looking at the evidence as I see it. Everything is great w/o SD; not so w/ it. That points the finger at SD until I find something that proves otherwise.

As version 185 have been released, let us see if any more 'medals' might be given out. Sorry for those who have allready voted, would not be fair to to start all over again.
