There appears to be a problem with Online Protection - Cookie Guard in SDv4.1.
On my desktop, SDv4.1 shows I have IE7 installed, but for Firefox Browser it shows "not installed" despite having Firefox v2.0.0.3 as my default browser. V4.0 acknowledged that Firefox was installed.
On my laptop, it shows I have IE7, but for Firefox browser it shows v1.5.0.11 despite the fact that I have v2.0.0.3 as my default browser here as well.
Anyone else having a similar issue?
Any comments PC Tools support???
Thanks.

In version 4.0 On Guard will delete many undesirable cookies (but not all of them!) by just turning on On Guard. It's configured for real-time deletion, but you can change that. I'd presume that turning on On Guard for some seconds or one minute will delete those cookies. Again, I don't know 4.1, but will turning on OnGuard for about a minute delete those cookies ? I think it works that way in 4.0.

hi
in setting just set firefox to automatically delete cookies on close
that way you can visit websites that require cookies but you don't have to keep them on your computer;)

Regarding removing cookies, I have been using for quite some time on both of my pc's a free application called CCleaner. I run the "Cleaner" in it at least once every day and it selectively removes all cookies except for the cookies you designate in a list to retain each time it is run. It also cleans up many other files and applications, which you can customize. It has a decent registry cleaner, as well as several other useful features. Additionally, it supports Firefox and Opera browsers as well as IE. Overall, I find it simple to use, effective, reliable and FREE. Highly recommended.

many of us use ccleaner its a usefull tool but i havent paid ccleaner to remove tracking cookies ive paid sd for that. maybe people think tracking cookies arent any security risk but the intention of these cookies is to track your movements as you surf between sites v4.0 removed them on manual scans why dont 4.1. 3 days left on my current subscription.

I recently installed SDv4.1 after complicated problems with SDv5 and I am having problems with Network Guard. All protection titles are set to ON but only LSP Protection allows a scan, the others do not. Is this a normal function

We have investigated this issue and have noticed that the browser scanner is missing in SDv4.1. I have brought this to the developers attention and will be adding this in shortly. We apologize for the inconvenience. In the meantime, could you please enable Cookie Guard as this will still detect and remove cookies automatically.

You cannot run a scan from within Network guard. However, however in custom scan you can choose LSP scanner, DNS scanner and Hosts scanner. If you are referring to the scanners in Custom scan? which scanners are not working and if possible can you provide more info?

If you mean "check now" I can see it checking for a split second so guess its much faster to do the check in 4.1 just like application load.

What is the purpose of "Check Now" in Network Guard. Aquick scan occurs when LSP is checked , or is this not a scan.
This always ran on V4.0.

Hello Everyone,
The browser scanner is now available in SDv4.1.
Please run a Smart Update to download the browser scanner.
