Help!My problem is still exsit!

My computer still can't record sound, I mean, the"Control Panel->Multimedia->Recorder" option is disabled/gray(but it still display the type of the record device), so I can't choose or modify the properity of the recorder, even after I removed the component and installed other sound recorder, this option is still gray.
When I try to record sound, the software always warn no record device, but my sound card still can play sound, I don't understand what'swrong with my computer?

<font color=blue> Go back to controll panel, Sounds $ Mulitmidia, click on the audio tab, make sure in recording your soundcard is checked, then click on Volume, then go to properties ,make sure to selecct, CD Player, Mic, and Wave out MIx. </font color=blue>
