i think pctools should bring out a complete system maintenance suite (is there is already one under development?)

Hi
I did once hear a rumour of an "Internet Security Suite" or something similar, way back when near the beginning of the SDv5 BETA. I think DM is the all-in-one system maintenance program.

i am currently using DM and i think its great

pctools have been getting closer to a fully integrated solution with dm and spyware doctor with antivirus

also renaming optimize system to tools would improve ease of use

also (again) in the title i forgot file recovery (although privacy guard would render it near useless)

Lol. Yeah. Just have to hope "PC Tools Internet Security" (if it every turns up) isnt as bad as Norton or McAfee!

i got mcafee with one computer and nortens with another

i dumped mcafee as soon as possible and turned off most the features of nortens:cool:

LOL
Does that not make norton slightly pointless?:p

yes but i am not the main user of the computer and it is needed for work so i can't take it off right now (I've only had it for less than a month)

anyway nortens has always been pretty useless:D

Ah. Fair enough. Before SD+AV i was using Symantec Corporate AV, but when the C++ errors came along during BETA i dumped it. So far I havent regretted it :)

I am currently using Registry Mechanic and Privacy Guardian. Is Desktop Mechanic a replacement for both or something you have in addition to these? Could someone please explain the differences if any. Right now my Registry Mechanic monitors for any registry changes in real time. Does Desktop Mechanic do the same thing?
Thanks,
Deb

Hi
Desktop Mechanic can be used as a substitute for both. DM can run in the background checking the registry (I forget how to change the settings). It performs the actions of both (with a few extras). If anything, I think the only difference is that DM is Vista compatible.
Hope that helps

Thanks for your answer. I think I will give Desktop Mechanic a try.
