Hello everyone,

Im running Win98 w/ Ie5 and I have this problem with explorer.exe...when i dont move the mouse cursor for some time a small window pops up with this annoying msg " This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down"... "Explorer caused an exception in module bla bla bla webcheck.dll " and below that i receive a list of registers#....
after clicking on this msg, my desktop "refresh" closing any opened webpages, download windows and hiding all programs on my toolbar leaving only the clock on the right side of my screen.
I installed Win98 and webcheck.dll again but it didnt solved the problem. GRRR!
Any ideas????
Thanks in advance,

Rossana.

you may want to connect to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ and select some updates. WEBCHECK.DLL was part of a service pack.

Rossana,

I think I've stumbled upon a fix! My son was having a problem loading a site that had tons of Java servlets so I loaded Internet Explorer 5.5. Now his problem is fixed and so is the timeout problem! Apparently the software needed to upgrade IE over-wrote or replaced the damaged or missing
file(s).

Thanx - Doug
