View Full Version : Why SD .179 "messes" with my e-mails ?

This is outrageous !

People send me links in e-mails but since I got it updated to .179 it blocks them !!!

If e-mail (using Outlook 2003) contains some link like http://www.ozon.ru for example the damn thing replaces all the links with blocked://www.ozon.ru !

Besides the fact that it's so called "false positive" I did not asked to filter my e-mails !!!
The bigger part of the problem that i can't turn it off since there is no e-mail settings in OnGuard anymore !!!

This is starting to get to my nerves, I did liked the V4 , I gave a benefit of the doubt to v5 progress but that is too much !!

In few months my subscription will run out and if the damn thing is not fixed by then I will move to PrevX.

It seems highly unlikely that SDv5 is blocking the URLs in your email. Is it all emails or just mail subscriptions? What settings have you got for mail in Outlook?

Hi,

I have tested this on build 179 with and without email guard and cant seem to replicate the problem. I am thinking its something to do with your outlook settings.

You can also try disabling SD to see if it is actually SD related.

It is SD related because when I got that e-mail I also got OnGuard message on "removing 3 threats" and indeed 3 links in e-mail were affected.

it's kind of hard to replicate because I already removed the SD5 from my system. :)

The e-mail itself was on Russian , may be thats part of the reason why it was blocked ?

P.S.: Yes , Avast! "touched" it too as every of my e-mails, but it's not it.

Also for the future I did not saw any reference to e-mail guard in the OnGuard settings, how to disable it ?
