Hi,
For the last week or more, my Smart Update has the "System Filter Driver" permanently ready for update - no matter how many times I download and install it, it's still there after reboot. If there are other items for update, they install properly and vanish from the Smart Update list, but the darn System Filter Driver just never updates. Is this a known issue?
I'm running XP Home SP2.

Hi
Can you try a full uninstall and a fresh install in Safe Mode?
Instructions:
1. Right-click systray icon and select shutdown
2. Restart PC
3. Add/remove through PC Tools uninstaller
4. Restart
5. Boot in Safe Mode (press F8 before windows logon screen)
6. Install SDv5
Hope that helps

For the last two weeks, smartupdate keeps saying that there is an update for "System Filter Driver" and "File Filter Driver".

Then, after it downloads the updates and installs it, it asks me to reboot. I reboot, but when smartupdate runs again, it says the same two updates are availible.

So I am in an endless loop!

I setup NAV 2005 (it's NOT norton internet security) and ZA 7 to NOT load with windows, so they should not be preventing SD from installing these filters.

So, Whats going on?

There are several of us with that exact problem. We are posted in the thread titled "Reboot Hell" on page 4. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone.
