Like many others, I have recently gone through the SWD 5.0 upgrade and had many of the same problems discussed in this forum. A few days after 5.0.0.177 became available, I downloaded and installed it. It has been solid for a week and I trust the problems of the past few weeks are behind all of us.
There is still one small issue that I am having. I can perform manual updates but the automated "smart-updates" don't seem to work. I receive an annoying pop-up in the lower right corner saying smart-updates failed due to failure to connect to the internet. If I can update manually by connecting via the internet, then why won't the automated update do the same? Is anyone having this issue besides me? My internet access is via DSL connection which is rarely shut off. Win XP SP2
