Ok after going through all possible permutations of resolving not getting any sort of update to run. I uninstalled and rebooted.(getting on for 30 times now total)
I check my mail again with the sub details....and guess what , i paid for the antivirus part BUT the download in the mail is for the NON av product......Ok so lets see what happens if i do that....well fcuk me it works..so it looks like there was an issue with what i got registered as a subscriber for on their system. It does confirm what i have in the mail also by the way so i guess the automated process is a bit wonky. I get the good old message of not being able to get the updates now , so my question is .

IF YOU HAVE UPTODATE UPDATES DO YOU GET THE "error downlaoding updates please try again error message" ?

I'm running V4 for now, but when I was using V5 in the good old days of build 169 if you checked for updates you got a message confirming that the programme was up to date if there were no updates to download and not an error message.
