Having had issues with SD5 I reverted to SD4. I'd be interested to know whether people think it's now safe to give SD5 another go, but that's not why I'm posting.

SD4 appears to do a daily scheduled scan for spyware, but I can't see any way of telling it at what time it should do this scan. Is this preset, or is there some option I have overlooked please? I'd rather it scanned at night when nobody is using the PC, rather than when I am in the middle of doing something important.

Hi
Do you have SD set to scan at startup? For scheduling go to OnGuard > Scheduler and there should be options to change the date/time of scans and updates.
What issues did you previously have with SDv5? What was the last version you used? Im using version 5.0.0.177 with no issues/conflicts...but many others are having problems. Please check to see whether any known issues apply to you here (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=44951)
Hope that helps

Hope that helpsI was using 5.0.0.169. The main problems were the PC locking up for up to 10 seconds at a time at apparently random intervals (which could have been an issue with file guard I was told). Also my attempts to send emails with Thunderbird were being interpreted as virus activity and zapped until I turned off AV protection. In addition turning on email scanning for outgoing emails caused the connection to time out without the messages being sent, so I had to turn that off as well. There was also the minor issue of the "virus checked by Spyware Doctor" message being appended twice to both outgoing and incoming emails when enabled.

Hi
You may not be aware, but the email guard has been removed from SDv5 (temporarily) for redevelopment. Thunderbird and file guard are in the list of known issues. Many users have noticed a distinct improvement with build 177. But if you are happy with version4, stick with it until issues have been resolved.
