Well uninstalled 4 again for the fourth time,then check with registry mechanic.Reboot install the new SD5.0.0176 took like seemed ages to do,got to box installing components.Then after quite a long time got the main SD program window two boxes were red,And underneath said it was checking the system,now this went on for ages.So went and had my dinner,came back exactly the same but now everything frozen.So used task manager to stop all the SD processes and managed to close SD down.So reboot took ages to load,finally managed to open SD again but exactly the same said it was checking the system same as first time.Again could not get it to close down unless with task manager.Finally got it closed but by now enough is enough,so tried to uninstall.But could not so again had to use a third party uninstaller got 5 off my PC clean up with ccleaner and reg-mechanic.And reinstalled 4 all went perfect done update and rescan without any problem.Now running XP pro all updates SP2 browser IE6,have uninstalled ZA to see if that was the problem,and the only other security program I have is kaspersky 5 AV.:mad:

Hi Padi,

It looks like maybe the conflicting issues with Kaspersky are still not resolved. There are several posts in the forum about conflicts with Kaspersky AV. This has been escalated, (see post No.4 here);

http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46195

However I still don't see it on the reported issues list here;:confused:

I keep following this myself as I also use KAV6. I am currently using SD4, (works with KAV and Vista for me), and will stick with that for the time being.:)

I am experiencing similar problems with this software. I am sick and tired of having to check and double check that it is ON and having to restart my computer everytime it freezes.

Well myself still using the latest version of Kaspersky AV 5,even uninstalled ZA firewall to try and get SD5 to work.Now tried the install with kaspersky disabled but still the same problem,but 4 works perfect for me.And this sd5 now has caused me almost 7 hours total of down time,and of course money as I work from home.And now sticking with SD 4 but will not be renewing my licence.
