Setting File Type Associations perm?

Is there a way to set file types so they stay? I keep setting .bmps to open with ms photo ed, but everytime i open mspaint it resets the association to paint.. same with trying to set .nfo to open with notepad.. everytime i open msinfo32.exe it resets .nfo to itself

Hi Adrian, I would like to have that information also. I am trying to make a audio cd but I get the message that my wave extension is in an invalid format. I was trying to convert mp3 files to .wav files for burning a music cd. How do I get a valid format (step-by-step if you please)?

I manually changed each (all 200 of them)mp3 to wav and then tried to make my cd. That is when the above message appeared. Dumb, huh?
