I have used spyware doctor on my windows xp computer ever since it came out and have been very happy with it. However, about a week ago I hit a major problem when I upgraded to the new version. My computer became incredibly slow, would sometimes reboot on its own, and would treat some of my valid programs as malware. Has anyone else experienced this? I suspected this new version was the problem and tried to uninstall it, but had trouble even doing this because it said the program was locked and could not be removed. I eventually was able to remove it by disabling the program then uninstalling it (even this took several attempts because my system would reboot on its own). Now that I have it removed my computer is working fine again. I tried going back to sdv4, but i dont have a backup copy and don't know how to find one. Any suggestions, as I would really like to have spyware doctor on my computer.

Hi
SDv4 is available for download on www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/version4/
With regard to your problem, which version of SDv5 were you using? (the latest version is 5.0.0.174) What other security programs do you use?

Not sure what version of sd5 I had since its no longer on my system. My other security software is mcafee (firewall, spamblocker, antivirus, and privacy manger). I also use Iclean for my IE7.
