Hi All

Just a minor anoyance but both these threads:
http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46300
http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46027 (has now been moved, thanks)
relate to SD5 with AV plugin, not PCTAV.

Maybe a forum moderator could move them to the SD5 section.

Pete

Maybe PC Tools should consider renaming PCTAV or SD w/AV plug-in so that their names are completely different. It seems all the most recent posts re SD are in the PCTAV section.

Continuing the theme
Registry Mechanic
Spyware Doctor
Privacy Guardian....

PCTAV could become 'Virus Plumber'

lol

Anyway, I'm off to the jungle to chow-down on some pablum with my Cyber-god mates.

This guy sounds insane. What is he talking about?

Well, if you're really curious about it, he was making a civilized reply to your post which lambasted him for being an elitist when he was simply trying to he helpful. I see you deleted your own post before making this reply, btw.

Maybe 'inflxshn' didn't delete it. PC Tools might have removed it.
Using terms like "socially impotent", "simian", "hack", "cyber god"(sarcastically) and now "insane" to describe someone you've never met is at best, ignorant, if not, just plain rude.
Whether or not my contributions consist of "textual pablum", as 'inflxshn' asserted, is open for anyone to determine for themselves.

Big deal, whine more about it, it's obvious you will.

You posts in regard to my issue were not only not helpful but more aimed at making sure posts were put in the right rows and columns. Granted this is a forum and whatever can be posted but so far my issues are with antivirus which not yourself or anyone else has offered useful suggestions toward. Just "post in the right section." It doesn't bother PC tools where the posts are yet you've put up numerous complaints about it. You have no clue what is going on with my machine, don't bother availing yourself to the issue. It's pc tools duty to carry on with tech support, your replies to the issue are more concerned with floor cleaning the forum than being constructive or analytical.

What's even more ridiculous is you keep trying to get a post moved out of a category that it's supposed to be in, I'm complaining about antivirus, if I was inaccurate about some detail big deal, step up and leave it alone. Nit picking about posts is unproductive especially when you're wrong about it and won't let go.

Let PC tools do the support on this one, you're not qualified, obviously. Stand up and help or shut up and leave it alone, or go on whining , I could care less.

or keep responding to messages that aren't there later, waste more time. I'm just going to wait for PCT to get helpful with a machine their product straight up destroyed.

Indeed. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this "in-something" joker happens to be one of the people AChen was referring to in this thread (http://www.pctools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=46413). ;)

Awaiting any response that actually deals with the original problem rather than useless inaccurate critiques about what section my posts about Antivirus complaints should be in and the ensuing prattle. The predilection for irrelevency here is nicely counter weighted by a growing contagion toward an inability to address and grasp the core issue. Seems there's some misdirection at work here by some.

I'm here to reiterate what I've said from the very first post: Antivirus is a problem. It bluescreens my laptop EVERY TIME IT'S installed. No relevant responses thus far. I've clarified on numerous posts STARTING WITH THE FIRST ONE that PCT AV has been causing problems and thus far nothing resembling technical expertise has been forth coming. The responses were some tripe about where my post was placed and the succeeding indulgence in a brief frat boy comarderie, undoubtedly between a seemingly fake poster (troll) that feigns assistance for members (likely for unsavory means,) and his sock puppet.

Numerous PM's to moderators have resulted in nothing. No one on the board can address this problem so... still waiting for a comment from TS. I've clarified the two OS, given the symptoms and will continue to until someone shows responsibility rather than the previously stated obsessive irrelevancy. I've stated from the beginning what the symptoms are, what machines it occured on and now I have specific messages from the windows screens that came up: BAD_POOL_CALLER and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Called PCT and no one's home at the moment. The problem is complex, it's left the OS on one machine with an annoying glitch; it's hanging and using heavy CPU time. Antivirus won't scan on one machine at all; never starts.

When anyone feels they've got the stones to handle this one feel free to step up, the other option is continuing to make posts tangential to my concerns. I've Already used half the tests on UBCD, done an SFC (System File Check) and various scans through safe mode; nothing. System restore, which rarely works anyway was ineffective. And as stated from the first post, I have a corrupted operating system.

Even if my first post was inaccurate in character of software, the following comments could have still been helpful as well as/instead of being corrective, but no, it was more important for some to be right then helpful. Inciting aggravation is a sure sign of a smoke and mirrors poster. Think about yourself and your own posts before getting on your pedestal, that is the embodiment of character. With all the thin skinned crying about a now obviously more than 'minor annoyance' for some, I noticed not a single post contained any useful technical help/suggestions regarding the actual issue(s) at hand. All this lends further credence to Achen's recent sticky post in regards to characters cruising here only to stir the pot.

Never said anything about anything being forbidden, I'm waiting on someone who has any sort of info in regards to the issue, rather, again, what reciprocated is a posts that does not contain anything technical, helpful or useful, instead you seem to have an ongoing obsession with unqualified character analysis. The previous post again, is helping to prove my point.

I will go on posting and restating that PCT AV has produced page faults and a bad pool caller. And I will continue to reiterate that PCT AV is not working on my machines. It has produced numerous blue screens, I have provided the above information as a means of rooting out any technical knowledge or prowess in regards to the stated difficulties. Keep going on with inane attempts at vitriol. I'll just keep restating the technical difficulties I have been experiencing which I believe is in form with the tone of the forum. Feel free to show off any expertise you may have in the area, I'm waiting.

So, what do you think about the page faults and sticky operating sytem? Feel free to throw another vacuous comment in if you don't know.

Yes, EVERY SINGLE poster in this forum is waiting at your beck and call to make ONLY posts relevent to YOUR problems, and anyone who does anything else is vacuous and pretentions. I'm afraid you have such a serious ego problem that people who make posts that don't contain exactly the things you demand are considered an insult to your dignity. I'm crushed. What ever will I do without your expertise? Like I was actually asking you for help? How dense.:p

Every bit of this is you putting words into my mouth while I continue to state the original problems, sticky OS, deals strictly with PCT AV. Blue screens with page faults and bad pool caller.

Pretty wild extrapolations. Yes, I'm actually having a great day, don't believe in luck so I can't comment there. Numerous people here already have been suggesting things and avoiding child like character assassinations at the same time, amazing. You're the pot calling the kettle black. 'Fraid I don't want to grip anything at your behest, feel free to grip what ever you like.

And as far as demanding, I've continuously stated what the issues were with my particular situation and waited for something useful, all the while your responses becoming more and more slanderous. I love watching a man or whatever feed off his emotions. Actually you're the only one acting like this in response to my queries.

Predictable responses too, nothing technical, no use, and presumptive. Yes, someone obsessed with slandering me is definitely not fitting into my tight definition of assistance, must have been a stretch for you to notice.

I have gotten responses relevant to the situation from people on the board and the amazing thing is they didn't feel threatened in any way by me or my situation, at least not to the point of clinging to vengeful behaviors. Bet it's tough to have no restraint or character flaws to the degree you're displaying.

My machine is starting to work, and the solutions are so simple. Anyone having troubles feel free to PM me and get some solutions.

It's interesting that someone who initially started off by hurling vitriolistic accusations on another innocent forum member - who was trying to do nothing but help - and deleting his own posts just for the sake of being able to make unfounded, jauntily caustic remarks, is now suddenly trying to portray himself as an injustly accused innocent who was only trying to seek help, when his bluff gets called out by other people. I wonder why. ;)

Glad to hear your problems are solved, by the way; hopefully we won't have to deal with you again in the future. ;)

Whatever world you like to live in is your choice. You're just a sock puppet. I'm here to stay. The first post toward me was sarcastic and irrelevant, not to mention inaccurate. Feigning innocence was first done on yours and the other poster's part when you lamely attempted to defend someone who was trying to roust my post out of the correct section. Notice PCT didn't move the post? If you remember, I was the one who was told through so many words that I was posting in the wrong section and it was done a number of times by some anal retentive type, and it was completely wrong. I was in the right section from the beginning. Strange that all gets omitted when you play innocent. Interesting your speaking now for the entirety of the forum, talk about ego. It might help to use the spell checker once in a while as well. Called out...hahahaahaaaa. Rotfl. Keep it coming, this is a great laugh.

Oh and the original problems were, bluescreening my laptop, page fault and bad pool errors, a sticky OS and now I remember, slow boot times and eternal shutdowns. Never a post without technical content. You've had how many now doing exactly what you accuse others of? Without any relevant software content whatsoever. No skin off my back, I have all the time in the world. Notice on the forum front page under PC Tools Antivirus it says "Discussions about PC Tools Antivirus"? Well golly, I'd LOVE to keep discussing PC Tools Antivirus. Heck now that think I've gotten my problems corrected I'll hang out and discuss and discuss and discuss. I even may have help for some who are having trouble with it. Anyone feel free to contact egotistical ol' me for some jaunty, caustic help on PC Tools Antivirus. I'll even throw in some actual relevant suggestions while being justly accused of having actual information. Lol. Call me out, call my bluff, I'll be glad to help. Lmao.

It really is quite interesting what is causing a lot of these problems. Antivirus is truly flawed.
There is a common thread among these errors. Amazing TS hasn't seen it.

Thanks for proving my point. ;) I'm sorry you suffer from such a serious inferiority complex that you feel the need to wallow in revoltingly excessive melodrama and interpret a simple, helpful reminder to post in the right sections (which wasn't even directed at you or had links pointing to your post, lol ) as a "sarcastic, irrelevent, anal-retentive" snub to your ego, and then resort to cheap tricks to exact your "revenge", but this is a tech support forum, not a psychiatry-related one, i.e. we are not able to assist you with this problem of yours.

As you seem to be one from the few groups of warped individuals who apparently derive perverse pleasure from unprovoked mud-slinging, underhanded tricks and outright slander, I will therefore keep this as my last post in this thread as there is no point for me in continuing any further, and leave any last words to you.

Awwwww,

You were my favorite posters, hook, line and sinker. April Fools! For melodrama, see above. That represents the darker definition of feminine. Once again pot meets kettle.

Actually one of the posts was mine, moron. And of course the self appointed Lord of the Board (probably the same as you, strange how you go on defending this individual's idiocy) specifically asked that it be removed and then even felt the need to post it exactly, when all I did was make a minute error about the description of the software. They then went on to make a glib post about the name of the product and some other ignorance about someone else's posting since 'everyone's doing it,' i.e. posting in the wrong section. Nice hyperbole Alice.

Funny they/you could make a joke but not take the succeeding one. Courtesy would have been the best first approach but it wasn't forthcoming. Of course PCT didn't remove it because it was in the right section which they found by asking me, not telling me, a rather simple but respectful technique. Also representative of true professionalism, not like the former.

But the facts have never stopped you from typing.

As I mentioned, There are ways out of this PCT AV/SD 5 mess.

Having problems with the two? Any who desire, feel free to continue to contact me. I accept all forms of respectful communication.

See you around the board, lots, lots more.

First, a little reflection.

In the world it is possible to know and be known by other people. Over time, relationships develop and we become familiar with each others strengths and weaknesses. When appropriate we offer praise and/or criticism with a credibility which stems from the depth of our relationship with that person. Within such relationships, personal abuse is not considered appropriate. When that relational credibility is absent, even less so.

--------------

While generally not responding to the incredible assertions of inflxshn, others have, and may continue to do so. So at the risk of being called pedantic (again!), let me clarify a few things.

Guilty as charged! Not realizing that glibness was a crime, I used a silly example to draw attention to my serious suggestion. (Grisoft have a similar confusion issue having both AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 and AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5.) I don't know why inflxshn interpreted this thread from it's beginning as a personal criticism.

I thought so too, but he's gotta stop calling me Alice!

*sniff, sniff* man that brought a tear to my eye...

Sure thing Alice er, PC-Pete.

Who cares!
Keep swallowing, you got the sinker now.
What a riot.

Well, now that my problem is fixed, I'll be around a lot more. Don't have to spend all that time fixing the PC and all, can actually start talking to some unhappy patrons.

Big clue to those having problems...UNINSTALL EVERYTHING HAVING TO DO WITH PC TOOLS, at least until the products are more together. I understand the company needs knowledge on the product, but too many OS's are being worked over. It would seem there are better ways to get a product out than by correcting it one configuration at a time. On several of my machines the programs were not only not working but also conflicting with each other. BTW, Webroot seemed no better either. Gave the info to TS unfortunately the reply wasn't timely enough to prevent me from ripping this horrid software from my machines. So stop trying to develop workarounds for software that isn't working. TS seemed friendly enough, essentially they were put in the unenviable position of having to mop up this binary mess. My hat goes off to Achen and his numerous replies. I have always praised SD and continued to even till last week when I recommended it to one of my friends. That was the first tip things weren't quite right. He said he was having all sorts of uncomfortable things going on. It's no big deal to me. I'll wait until they straighten it out and maybe buy it later.

So Alice er, PC Pete, leeeeet gooooo. There are people slamming the he11 out of this company making all sorts of unfounded gripes with no character behind them, look through the board. Go talk to them, you're only fueling this. I imagine your interest in this is that it was your thread. Who cares who says what about you or how. It's only words, relax. I'm not bothered at all by this thread, in fact I rather like it, it's kind of well,,, familiar. The thread was in the proper column, how long do you want to go over this. I don't care what you say or argue about, to me it's all rubber and glue. People interpret things differently, your replies may not always be regarded in the ways you want them to be, big deal. I was asking for help while several of my machines were being torn to pieces by PCT software. So what if I found your reply nit picky, irrelevant or sarcastic? To me it seems a lot of your posts have that feel. What you offered me was no help and sounded like BS. Deal with it. There are people on this board that need real help. How much time have you wasted on this one thread? I have all the time in the world, a luxury most do not acquire. Don't you get the feeling your chain is being jerked?

I'm going to have a peek at the EUR/USD, it seems to be caught in a range and I need to get an entry order in before it goes volatile.
