Clearly the degree of frustation with SD5 is escalating judging by the increasing number of 'unprofessional' comments.

It also seems from the comments that we are getting no real feedback other than' this problem has been escalated to the technical support team'

We still seem to be no nearer a solution than we were with beta version 8 or earlier and one must question the wisdom of going commercial with so many faults (although this is not unusual when introducing new products to the market regardless of what that market is).

I think it would certainly help the understanding of those who have put a lot of effort into supporting the BETA development to have some statement from the support team about the main issues, and challenges and expected timing. No news or update of what is happening is often taken as indicative that nothing is happening which I'm sure is not the case

I cannot see the issues being sorted out without the support of the BETA forum but it is taking an inordinate amount of time. Perhaps a review of the steps gone through and some rethinking to split the upgrade into smaller parts might be appropriate( although it may be too late for this). At the end of the day I'm sure PCTools want to keep the existing customers and some sort of subscription time extension (say 3-6 months from time of resolution) might be a relevent gesture for those who have given their time and effort to test and support the BETA development

The number of posts in this forum that address this miserable piece of crapware tells me that there is a serious problem on many levels.

I have just posted on three boards I frequent, all of them boards for people in the business and dealing with software. I posted this:

If you are a user of SpywareDoctor, do not under any circumstances update to their new version, v5. It is a disaster and it will cause you more harm than you can imagine. Their user forum is filled with angry (justifiably angry) posts about the problems it causes. One of the posts is mine.

Fight the temptation. Avoid it like the plague.

Now at least twenty thousand people will have the warning.

Trevor I totally agree with you comments.
I cannot understand why build 169 was released when it was as judging by the comments in the beta testing it was certainly not the most stable of the beta's.
To put out the update notice in my view has made a difficult situation much worse.
Somehow PC Tools appear to be overwhelmed by the problems, responding to every issue as you correctly say by assuring us that the problem will be escalated to the technical or development team, in the meantime we hear nothing about progress, the list of known issues is no longer updated, no fixes and very infrequent updates to the spyware database which use to happen 5 days a week.
Even at this late stage I believe the correct decision would be to revert V5 back to beta status until the situation is back under control and PC Tools have a stable version to release.
I doubt that it will happen but it certainly should the present situation is bad for us all PC Tool included.
