I downloaded and installed SD5 earlier today. Prior to doing so, I uninstalled SD4, and deactivated PCTools AV. I then installled SD5 on my eMachines 4511, which has 1 G DDR Ram and 2.53 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor. Cable modem internet connection. The installation went well. Afterwards, it automatically updated itself, and began a scan of my system. During the scan, it told me I needed to reboot. I did this after the scan completed. I then attempted a Full Scan with a browser (FireFox) open and things locked up. Took several attempts before I could reboot. I then ran a Full Scan with no browsers open, and it went well. Took about 45 minutes to scan 120k items. I checked, and SD5 did detect I was a registered purchaser of the program. A carryover from SD4.

But now, I find myself becoming disappointed in SD5. After loading 3-4 web pages in IE7 or FireFox, things slowed down very much. A very noticeable delay from clicking on a browser menu item, and the "executing" of it. Even surfing using the Stumble Upon is too slow. I did an image search on Google, and it never did load all of the images on the page. To improve things, I closed the browser, then opened again.

I can say SD5 is faster than SD4 to load, when I startup my computer. SD4 takes over 2 minutes to load, even after an update. I will possibly uninstall SD5. The slowness of loading web pages is totally unacceptable, but I will wait to see if things improve. If things do not improve with SD5, I must decide if I want to reinstall SD4 or move on to a competitor's program. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated. ...pedum

Hey pedum,

From the info you provided, it seems that all these issues have already been escalated. Hoping these get fixed soon.

Ive seen in other posts that there are 3 main OnGuard tools which are causing the problem (slow downs and all of that stuff). You can try disabling these for the time being if you wish to continue with SDv5. I cant locate the thread at the moment, but if I stumble across it, I'll let you know.

Hi,

To add to what c_edge mentioned, these are the onguard tools causing problems.

Browser Guard
Network Guard
Site Guard

See if disabling these help for the time being.
