I have just now downloaded and installed SD5. My question is this. How does the the anti-virus feature of SD5 compare to the PCTools Anti-virus program?

Thanks,
pedum

Hi
The antivirus plugin is EXACTLY the same as the engine used in PCTools AV.:) It uses the same database 2
Hope that helps

Thanks for the information. I have PCTools AV. (Registered purchaser, etc.). I have not activated it nor activated the AV in SD5. Mainly due to my disappointment with SD5. See the "My SD5 Experiences" post for details.

In that case i would use your PCTools AV license as otherwise you will have to purchase another key for SD

Maybe I'm misreading this but why would Pedum have to purchase another key? If you are already a registered user SD5 with or without AV is a free upgrade.

I think what he is referring to is that if you want to use the PCTAV standalone then you will need to purchase another license code for this product as the SD+AV is a 1 package deal. The AV plugin does not give the same functions as the PCTAV, as there are many more onguard tools and so on, more settings and stuff like that.
