I just ran a full scan with SD5, and on the results page, it's telling me that there are 10 "Infections Ignored" while at the same time, it's telling me that no threats were detected. How do I find out what "Infections" are being "Ignored" and why?

Hi everyone,

Ignored items are usually detected items that cannot be removed at that very moment as the file or key is being used or are currently protected by another process. This is why SD sometimes needs to re-boot in order to remove these infections.

You can also try a scan in safemode as this will ensure no other processes are running during the removal process.

If however, you are still unable to remove in safemode, then it would be best to send a Malware log to us and the MRC team can investigate this and implement a fix.

Anthony,

First, let me thank you for your continuous and courteous responses.

I did as you suggested, rebooted to safe mode and scanned, and SD5 found 10 "Infections Ignored" while at the same time, SD5 told me that my system was free from infections. After booting back into my domain, I scanned again and the number is now up to 13. I ran the "Malware Dective" and sent it off to support. I would really like to know what these infections are.

And again, THANKS for all of the help. While I may be new to the SD software, I'm a PCTOOLS users from WAY back in the early 90's. And I have no plans on changing that any time soon.

Robert

Thanks for your reply Robert.

Can you provide me with the ticket number for the Malware log you sent in. I'll have this checked up and let you know what the infections are.

I would, but it didn't give me a log number (and I did it a second time to make sure). It just connects to PCTools Server, sends the file, then closes the connection..
