 When I opened my SD5 with anti-virus, it really took a long time to scan a restored computer. Typically it should take 10 to 15 minutes and now it takes over 3 hours to complete the scan. Previously, I liked the software because it found many spyware in a quick amount of time. Now the software is messing all of our computer up freezing our internet. PCtools should have given our money back after Kim Komando vouched for the company and now you have let us down because of too many problems. The company needs to reduce the time from 3 hours back to 30 minutes in full with all anti-spyware and anti-virus.

It's to be expected that a scan for both spyware and viruses would take longer than a scan for just spyware. But 6x does seem a little excessive. ;)

Who's Kim Komando and why would him/her vouching for the company mean you should get your money back?

Hi,

At the moment we do not have a permanent fix for SD5 'freezing' the internet. Please try these steps to disable the DNS protection in the OnGuard tool Network Guard, in order to get your connection back.

This might solve your problem for now, until we find a more efficient fix.

1) Open Spyware Doctor
2) Click on the OnGuard button
3) Select Network Guard
4) Untick DNS Protection

The long scan-time can have a lot of causes. I would recommend that you send an email with the description of the issue to support@pctools.com
Our tech-team will assist you in solving the problem.
