View Full Version : SD V5 = total nightmare with Vista Ultimate 32 Bit :-(

Been using Spyware Doctor for some time now. Recently renewed my subscription and waited for the final release of V5 before installing on my Vista PC.

Its nothing more than a complete nightmare :(

When installed my PC seems less responsive. Pages do not load up correctly in Firefox 2.0.0.2 but seem fine IE7? Screen locks up and I have to force a reboot. Try and do a smart update and my screen just goes black and I have to do a forced reboot. When shutting the PC down it takes forever, whereas before it was virtually instant.

I have now uninstalled SD V5 and PC is back to normal again, so its obvious that SD V5 has serious issues with Vista.

So like many others I have paid for a product that totally messes my PC up when installed, which is a shame really.

Please note that my purchase was for SD only and not with the Anti Virus included.

I do have Windows Defender running and my virus checker is AVG V7.5.448

I hope you can resolve these issues sometime soon, as I will not be going back to SD V5, as I can not live with all the issues it causes for me when installed.

Gazza.

 I installed SD5 over SD4 and my Vista were not happy at all. Services stopped one after the other and finally the uninstall didn't work. I managed to reinstall it in safe mode and gave a 2nd chance uninstalling SD4 for no good. I had continuous reboots with a black screen and a cursor just blinking. I finally removed it from the system and the registry, reinstalled SD4 and now everything works fine. I noticed in some posts the same problem in conjunction to NOD32 which is my case. Was there any reason to release a partially working version? And finally is there a way to stop the annoying message to update to SD5?

Users of XP are having problems too so it's not just Vista.

Its as shame really as SD4 on XP was the dogs nads for me, really liked it. Now its just all doom and gloom.

I really hope they manage to fix it all sometime soon.
