I have just bought a new computer that has Vista on it. I had spyware doctor subscription purchased on my old computer and dled it for my new computer with my license code and everything. It downloaded fine, but now when I start up my computer it says the Spyware Doctor has stopped running and will close. And this message pops up everytime I close it. I have tried to uninstall Spyware Doctor and when I try to do that it says SetUp/Uninstall has stopped working. HOW DO I GET IT OFF MY COMPUTER SO I WON'T CONSTANTLY HAVE THIS MESSAGE POPPING UP?

Try booting into safe mode and run the uninstaller from there.

I am having the same problem. Spyware doctor does not even startup. I am running Vista Ultimate.
Did you manage to find a solution as I have written to support and have not had a reply yet.

Hi Vuadua & cat1212,
If you cannot uninstall SD, uninstall SD in safemode (arden42). You can also try re-install SD and then uninstall.
If you have any tickets you would like me to follow up, please provide your ticket number and ill look into this for you.

I have booted in safe mode and tried to uninstall it from there and it absolutely does nothing. It won't uninstall it.

I have also tried to run the set up file to pretend like i am installing it again and that didn't work either. I had the same result.

If you have exhausted all of the suggested options a system restore, back to a point before you installed SD5 might be the only answer. But if you have submitted a ticket to support you might want to wait and see if any other suggestions come in. It sounds like the installer/uninstaller may have become corrupted.
Are you having the problem with SD's Uninstaller, have you also tried from add/remove programs, (or Uninstall a Program as it is now in Vista), (stupid question you probably have). This is just one other thought but it is way, way, a long shot, turn UAC (User Account Control) off temporarily. Control Panel-User Accounts and Family Safety-User Accounts, you will see the option.
I have had this break a couple of installations, and after doing a bit of 'googling', it is not an isolated problem. I have never had any problems uninstalling though with it on. But it is at least worth a try.
