After the installation of SP5, my computer became extremely slow and unresponsive. Each time that I was able to view the task manager (not always able to open it now), I saw that the swdsvc.exe file bluctuates beween 50% and 100% of the CPU and Windows XP would suddenly shut down and attempt to restart.

I also notice that there appears to be a conflict with a RealTek Realtek ALC650 6-Channel Audio v3.44 driver. However, the problem mentioned above continues even when the driver is completely uninstalled.

SP5 and swdsvc.exe have a serious compatibility issue. What is the fix? We need it ASAP. Thanks.

Hi V-mann,

The first issue is a known issue, the development team is working on this.

Regarding RealTek Realtek ALC650 6-Channel Audio v3.44 driver, what is the problem when SD is enabled?

I just used the smart update to go to version 5. OH! how I wish I had not! After running for three hours my PC re-booted itself and stalled. Now I cannot start up my PC due to an application error from sdwsvc.exe Safe mode won't boot. I don't think this product is ready for distribution.

My resentment now is how do I boot up so I can disable the services and uninstall? And another thing -- the clock is ticking on my license and I cannot even use it.

I hope someone in tech support posts a reply here. Will keep checking.
I am running XP SP2
