I've been running the beta; this problem occured with the .165 version, and now I am running .169 and it's still here.
In a nutshell, if I run Photoshop, and start scanning anything (Photoshop uses ScanGear utility to do scanning), the scanner (Cannon) at some point in the middle of the scan will freeze and report an unrecoverable error.
First I thought the problem was the scanner; but then I put two and two together, and shut down the SD. The scanner worked consistently after this. Then I enabled the SD. I can clearly see the scanner crashing after this almost every time.
Also, if the Photoshop is running and the SD was disabled, and now I try to enable it - it will not start, reporting some "control not valid for this servise", and then it will not shut down either. I will have to re-boot.
It is a nuisance to shut down SD every time I need to scan.
