Outlook Express 6.0 incoming mail scan

SD 5.0.0.169 - Win XP sp2. SD is not letting email to my Inbox and OE hangs. I must End Task to exit OE. When I disable OnGuard Email, all works fine. In fact, the incoming email that OE got hung on comes in with the SD scan stamp on it. Incoming mail is POP3, outgoing is SMTP. The original issues with OE hanging in SD beta versions are all marked as resolved, so where do I go from here?

Looks like this is a known issue. It could be a combination of the Email Guard and File Guard that could be causing this. As a workaround try disabling Email Guard and then try the File Guard. See if this helps.

Thanks for the advice, c_edge, I had the same problem and disabling the email guard solved it. It also got rid of an obvious conflict with email scanning from Norton SW2006.

It's a huge shame IMHO that SD5 wasn't kept in beta for a while longer while these pretty basic compatability issues were sorted out, I found SD4 a extremely reliable product, where I needed support from PC Tools it was quickly given and highly effective.

Just looking at the threads on this forum, it's clear there are a large number of still unresolved issues and it can only be longterm detrimental to the otherwise excellent reputation PC Tools has. I hope it's got right soon for everyone's sake.
