Download SDV5 w/o Antivirus - get SDV4??

Simple question. Thought I would try V5 one more time (about 3 times to date), but try to download V5 w/o Antivirus and still get V4. Work that out?

Download SDv5 from http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/.

Make sure you are not installing the setup file for SDv4. You might still have the setup file on your computer and clicking on the wrong set up file.

At the v5 download page, I notice that the release date for the current version is March 15th. I lament that they're not using the version number there. Easy, just check the offered version against whatever version one has .. instead of trying to track release dates.

Thanks Chaps, but I still get V4 from the V5 download site. Thats is V5 w/o antivirus should be about 19MB (according to Pc Tools), but PC Tools download link only offers V4 which is 10.8MB. V5 with antivirus is the correct 32.7MB.

I think PC Tools need to update their download links.

Downloaded V5 with Antivirus to try for the 4th time hoping that the final release would be OK. No luck (could not get SD5 without Antivirus).

1) Once loaded IE7 locked up on the 2nd website, then SD5 locked..had to pull the PC's plug to reboot.
2) Rebooted and did a Smart Update, SD5 then locked up trying to restart the program.
3) Another Reboot, turned off the Guards and Immunzier, then IE7 locked up!
4) Reboot and removed SD5 (thankfully the only thing that did work!).

Back to SD4...... :-((

Running Vista 32 - the rest works fine!

If not, try pushing-in the power button, & holding it in, until it reboots.

Downloads OK for me, Stickler - 18.6mB. Try it again - maybe they've fixed it.

Hi,

Please try to remove your cookies and temporary internet files in IE7 (Tools > Internet Options > Browser History)

This might help with getting the right link.
