SD5 freezes after update

I have been using SD5 since March 15 and it appeared to be running very well. I manually ran the Smart Update today and downloaded a small update to the definitions. All appeared to go well, but the program froze when I clicked on the finish button. I have removed the program and reinstalled SD4, which has never given me problems.

You are right ...
After installing 5.0 my PC freezes, IE7 locks up and it takes 15-20 seconds before anything is happening. Applications are working terrrribly slow.
I switched from SpySweeper to SD because SpySweeper slowed down the system - due to whatever memory leak. With SD4 everything worked fine.
Am gonna uninstall 5.0 and re-install 4.x and pray it will work as before.
5.0 = Major disappointment!:mad:

Actually - it is unbelievable but true - I had to uninstall 5.0 first (!) before I cud post this reply. When I wanted to post my reply (with 5.0 installed), IE7 said it was not connected to the Internet, repeatedly.

I've been running SD4 along with SpySweeper with anti-virus version 5.3.2 on Vista and have had no problems with any slow downs or compatibility. I did get SD5 running okay for a bit but then the problems (slow down, freezes and stopping in the middle of scans) started up again so it will stay off until the problems are worked out.
