Its hard to be objective about such a buggy version, but here it goes:
Compatibility issues with NIS 2006- NIS 2006 does not allow SD5 to update
OnGuard freezes FF2 (web-sites) - random web pages are rendered completely thrashed (wrong fonts/seize/layout...etc)
Web-sites - web pages freeze for no apparent reason
scanning - the green bar does not run smoothly but jumps in inexplicable 'blocks', utterly confusing...
Its painfully slow compared with SD 4
I spend the best part of the afternoon trying to do something useful with this version, alas I'm back to SD 4 and things are just working again.
I don't know what procedure beta-testing followed, but IMHO it couldn't have involved extensive checking. This version dealt a serious blow to PC Tools reputation of providing reliable, user-friendly and clean looking trouble free products.
I really would have loved liking this product but the damage is done. When it comes to security, the issuing of such a buggy product is inexcusable.
