I purchased Spyware Doctor from CompUSA and I can't install it at all on Vista. The program freezes and tells me it is not compatible with Vista. I need to start using this program asap. I have a license code and everything. Did I miss some update? Will an admin please help as soon as possible.
Thanks

Hi PrenupTB,
The retail version of Spyware Doctor that you have purchased has older version of Spyware Doctor which does not work on Windows Vista. Only the latest released version 5 works on Windows Vista which you can download from our website.
What you need to do is send me a PM with your activation code, name and email address so that I can activate your Spyware Doctor. Then you can download the Spyware Doctor 5 and register your Spyware Doctor.
Kind Regards,

If that's true then why is my version 4 working just fine on Vista? Version 5 did nothing but give me problems.

I think what support is trying to say is SD Retail is even an older version the SDv4. I think its a version 3. I dont think this will work with Vista, however 4 seems to work ok according to others on this forum as well as yourself.
If you cant uninstall, try it in safemode, or a re-install then uninstall.

If you want you can send an email to support@pctools.com with photograph of your receipt and photo of the back of the user manual where activation code is located. Once support rep receive required photos he/she will generate you your license code and license name. All is left for you to do is go to this link www.pctools.com/product/download download latest SD install it and register using info provided by the support. :D

No, my question was concerning supports statement "Only the latest released version 5 works on Windows Vista which you can download from our website." which is not true. Version 4 also works fine on Vista. Maybe just a oversimplified statement but it still could cause a bit of confusion for someone having problems with SD.

My suggestion is that you go nowhere near Vista with Version 5. Read all the forums and you'll see why.

It's not just Vista. XP isn't fairing any better with SD5.
