I have a client that has a workgroup setup, therefore does not have a true server. We attempted to install the Enterprise Console on his PC (XP home) and it worked just fine. However, when trying to install on other computers, we get a message "access denied". All the other computers are XP home as well.
Will Spyware Doctor Enterprise run in this setup?

jstein1206, thanks for contacting PC Tools.
In regards to the SDE " Workgroup " installation.
The following points are essential for a correct Windows Workgroup deployment.
1. The PC where the SDE Server Console is installed should have an Administrator User Profile for successful operation.
2. 'All' of the SDE Client PC's must have the very same named User Profile as the SDE Server Console, with same passwords, permissions etc present. However it is not neccessary to be logged into that profile, just as long as it is present on the Client PC's.
3. File and Print Sharing must be 'enabled' on both the Server and Client PC's.
4. Windows Firewall and other Third Party Security applications must be visibly checked for any potential blocking against the SDE Client installs.
==============================
The problem that is occurring could be related to many different configuration scenario's. Considering this, please confirm that the setup criteria below is configured appropriately.
Firstly please run this command line into the 'run command box' to determine if the problematic SDE Client does have a clear network communication path from the Server.
\\computername.yourdomainname.com\admin$
or
\\computername\admin$
After running the command line:
- If the directory listing of the Client PC appears, then you should be able to proceed with the SDE client deployments. However if you still receive this type of error then please continue below at 'Step 1'.
- If a network error appears please continue below at 'Step 1'
=============================================
1. Logged onto the domain server and Spyware Doctor Enterprise console with a user account that is a member of the domain administrators group.
2. File/print sharing are active on the server and client workstations.
3. The default admin$ permissions on both machines have not been modified.
4. If XP's built in firewall on the applicable client workstation is active, please temporarily disable it (to further isolate the problem) and then reboot the workstation.
5. Verify proper communication to the client workstation by completing these steps.
A. Go to the Start button/Run, paste in compmgmt.msc /s and click ok.
B. Right click on the Computer Management entry at the top and select Connect to another computer...
C. Load the client computer into the Computer Management console via the browse button.
*If the client computer cannot be loaded into the Computer Management console, you may want to visit http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=840634 to view additional information which may further assist in resolving the problem.
Once the steps outlined above have confirmed to be configured correctly, please attempt to install the remote client again.
For helpful online SDE information you can view the complete SDE Admin Guide at: http://www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor-enterprise/help/3.0.1/adminguide/
Please let us know the status of the outcome from above.
