I purchased a copy of registry mechanic at fry's electronics. Loaded it & ran the registry scan. I was then informed I had to register to correct the registry. Started the process & was told to input licenses name & code. Input my name & the activation code & was informed it was invalid. The steps in the manual do not reflect what I was presented with. Perhaps it is because I'm running Vista Home; I have no idea. I had no luck with the 1-800 number, after several tries was forced to leave a msg. with my number - have had no response. I had no luck finding an email option at pctools webpage; it must be well hidden. I did manage to get it from the phone recording & sent an email; no response. I guess it comes down to buyer beware.....

for a product with such glowing reviews I hoped for better. :(

Hi ggreenburg,

To help resolve this issue - if you have installed Registry Mechanic from the PC Tools website, please uninstall this version. The retail version will only work if you install the version from the CD. Follow the prompts on the CD and enter in your activation code provided, your email address and name.

Once you have successfully activated, a license code will be sent to your email address, use this to register RM. Once you have registered, you can download the latest version from www.pctools.com/registry-mechanic/download/

If you would like me to follow up any tickets, please provide me with your ticket number.
