I purchased Registry Mechanic two days ago, downloaded the program, installed it but when I try to open it, nothing happens. The program does not open so I cannot try it, register it, use it! I have no idea of what to do. Can anyone help. I have sent messages to support@pctools.com, have called their 800 number and left messages but I have gotten no help whatsoever. This is my last hope.
Can anyone help?

Hi Jerry, I have just downloaded, installed and registered Registry Mechanic yesterday. It is running great for me. Maybe you can try completely uninstalling and then reinstalling?

Actually, that is the first thing I did. I also tried to install it on my laptop thinking that maybe there was a problem with my desktop. It would not open on the laptop either! I am totally mystified.
FYI - I am using XP Home edition.

Hi Jerry,
Since other programs that are already running may be hindering the proper operation of Registry Mechanic can you please complete the following steps:
*Note please make sure that you have unplugged your broadband line before performing below instructions*
1. Start -> Run -> type msconfig
2. Click Startup tab
3. Temporarily uncheck all the items
4. Reboot
5. Start Registry Mechanic.
6. Perform a Scan
If this is successful this would indicate that one of the startup items is affecting Registry Mechanic. To find this suspect program try and add one program at a time to the startup items in msconfig and reboot your computer and load Registry Mechanic. As soon as Registry Mechanic fails to load the last startup item added to msconfig would be the one affecting Registry Mechanic. Please reply to this thread with the details of the particular program that is affecting Registry Mechanic.
