I have an HP6746c. On bootup I receive a message that tells me I need a system disk in drive A. Did what HP told me to do but it did not work. In BIOS I told it not to seek floppy, and disabled it everywhere else. I would like it to boot with a disk in "A",even blank. Ant suggestions??

no matter what disk you boot up with, there has to be an operating system on it, so, no, you cant boot up with a blank floppy.

You say, you set not to seek floppy, this is to set up configuration.
But there is usually also a boot order setting, that lets you tell to boot from disk, cd, floppy or a combination. Set to boot only from your disk.

Don't know how I missed the setup in BIOS. Probably because the setuo is entirely different from my previous machine. It works great now. Thanx to all!!
