PC crashed!-had to implement RECOVERY/Acronis to re-establish my data filesetc .
THE SEQUENCE OF EVENTS BEFORE CRASH are AS FOLLOWS-
This CRASH happened about 3 days after REGISTRY MECHANIC was installed and used .
I then decided to do a back-up on CD of the Register Mechanic setupfile 'rminstall'.This seemed to work ok and the cd played back to the pc ok.I then left this cd inadvertently in the pc and put the pc into 'HIBERNATE'.On coming out of HIBERNATE LATER THAT DAY ,THE pc CRASHED!
CAN YOU PLSE OFFER ANY ADVICE as to what might have caused the crash.???(first crash in 4 years and the message on the black screen was as follows-
"NTLDR is missing
Press ctrl+alt+del to restart"
-needless to say this did not work! and I had to use Acronis to restore etc)

You can try restoring the changes made by RM. Open RM and you will see restore button.

Also have a look at this site which may help you to resolve the problrm.

Thanks for you reply-especially the link -from which I deduce that the pc was attempting to re boot from the RM copy CD that I had left in the CD drive.I don't think that RM s/w caused the problem as I have run it since my RECOVER/ACRONIS (restore from backup hard dr.) and the pc seems ok.

Yes It Has Happened Again, message Was The Same-
"ntldr Missing
Press Ctrl/alt /del To Restart"
Had To Use Acronis Again-it Is A Wonderful Prog. & Came With My Freecom 160gb Harddisk Which I Use For Backup. Restoring The Pc Disk Image From The Freecom Neccessitated Wiping The Pc Disk First -so Restoring Was A Long Process!

The Only common Element For This And Crash No1 (see My Previous Posting) Was That I Had "compacted My Register" Using Register Mechanic Which Was Fully Updated(780) Before Turning Off The Pc (I Have Not Used Hibernate Since Crash No 1)

My Experience With Rm Has Not Been A Happy One!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I HAD NO PC CRASHES PRIOR TO USING 5* "REGISTER MECHANIC"!SO WHAT IS GOING WRONG???????????????????????
